Lungfishopolis 2009 Holiday Game Watchlist

Summer is cooling off, and the big holiday game releases are right around the corner. While we won’t be seeing Starcraft 2 or Heavy Rain this year, and Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been shelved until further notice, there are still plenty of fantastic games coming out this year. Drawn to Life: the Next […]

I didn’t know about this game until very recently. Now, I want. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

The Kind Code

One of this year’s E3 announcements that escaped my attention until today is Nintendo’s announcement of the “Kind Code“. This is a system whereby if you find yourself stuck at a certain point in a game, you can activate the Kind Code, and the game then plays itself. In this way, you can figure out puzzles, or […]

Starcraft Battle Report #3

It looks like Blizzard has released a third Starcraft 2 “Battle Report”, and it’s the best one I’ve seen yet. There are some brilliant moves by these obviously high-level players. Matches like these could easily be a spectator sport. The video is in two parts, both of which you can view below.

Top 5 E3 Highlights

I just finished reading the G4 Staff’s Top E3 Highlights, and I thought I’d offer my own five favorite items from E3 2009. I’ll hit these in no particular order. Firstly, The Last Guardian. I’ve got to agree that the trailer looks amazing, but I have to agree with Penny Arcade’s take on how the story will end. […]

Too Many Games

It’s not a problem that you often see in the Spring. Sure, when it’s November, we’re flooded with games. But the first quarter or two of the year are generally devoid of game releases. Right now, in addition to the games you can see I’m playing over in my gamercard at the left, I’ve got […]

Scribblenauts

I just finished reading the Joystiq hand-on preview of Scribblenauts. This game sounds downright amazing. The premise is that you face different levels with different problems to solve – get this man a drink, get past this shark, escape from a zombie apololypse. You know, read-world problems. But in order to do this, you write […]

Sequelitis

As I look over my list of games that were announced at E3 this year, I’m struck by the fact that every one of which I’ve taken note is a sequel. Probably the one I’m most excited about is Heavy Rain, which isn’t a true sequel to Fahrenheit, but it’s a spiritual successor created by […]

A New Monkey Island Game

I’ve never played any of the original Monkey Island games, but I’ve heard people rave about them. Now, it looks like TellTale games, makers of the new Sam & Max and Strong Bad adventure games have a new episodic game series on the boards: Tales of Monkey Island. The series is debuting July 7th for the […]
