Awesome Obscure Beatles Music

January 17, 2019 - -

Over the summer, I played a random sampling of Beatles music on an internet radio station while doing yardwork, and was pleasantly surprised to find a number of really good songs I either hadn't heard before, or that I'd heard and nearly forgotten.

This in mind, I've compiled a list of somewhat obscure Beatles music that I really like. If you like the band at all, give this a listen. there's a fair chance that you've not heard all these songs, and some are really very good. I hope that the YouTube ads aren't too much of an annoyance.

I'll Follow the Sun - If you listen to the Beatles, this is the one song in my list you've likely heard. I'd nearly forgotten about it though, and it's a great tune.

Here, There, and Everywhere - This is one of the songs I discovered while doing yardwork. The harmonies in the background vocals are awesome. I had to stop doing work to listen.

Because - It may be the harmonies in the vocals that first caught my attention here, but in the end my favorite thing about this song, which may be my favorite one on this list, is the arpeggio harpsichord.

And Your Bird Can Sing - I definitely hadn't ever heard this song before a couple weeks ago. It's a great little tune though.

Wait - Harmonies again are what make me love this song.

For No One - I'm not even sure I can put my finger on the specifics of why I love this tune so very much. I think it's just the melody.

I Don't Want to Spoil the Party - This may be pretty traditional Beatles fare, but it's got some pretty good harmonies as you get further in, and I can't recall having ever heard it before very recently. It reminds me a good bit of I'll Cry Instead.

I Me Mine - This song alternates from waltz to fifties rock. Pretty cool, and I enjoy the orchestra backing up the band.

You Won't See Me - Just a solid Beatles song that I didn't know about previously.

Blackbird - Okay, so this one isn't obscure. But I really love the song, and tacked it on the end.
