Tonight, one of my favorite bands is performing in Boston. I bought tickets to tonight's show. And later, I learned that my daughter's big violin performance is also tonight. I love Pomplamoose, but my daughter wins - I sold the tickets.
But since I haven't yet shared anything about the band yet on my site, I'd like to share some of my favorite music of theirs. First off, the song that got me listening: Bulletproof, a remake of a song I'd never heard by a band named La Roux.
Next up, an excellent cover of the Daft Punk song Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. While Daft Punk uses editing and a synthesizer to hit the crazy octave switches, Pomplamoose's Nataly Dawn actually sings it all.
Third, an awesome mashup of the Eurythmics song Sweet Dreams and White Stripes Seven Nation Army.
Another mashup of the BeeGees Stayin Alive and Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity. I swear these covers are usually better than the originals.
And the last mashup, which we call Can't Stop Feeling Billie Jean's Face.
They've got so many other great songs - I'll let you go down a rabbithole of your own making if you so choose.
