On January 6th, a mob assaulted the United States capitol, many with the intention of overthrowing the United States government. Very shortly thereafter, a social networking site named Parler, which had been marketed as censorship-free and had quickly become home to many right-wing extremists, had a massive data breech. All of Parler's data was downloaded, and this included many videos of the attack at the U.S. Capitol, even the videos which had been deleted.
Propublica, my new favorite news site, has obtained and archived these videos so that people can better understand exactly what unfolded in Washington D.C. on the day.
