R.I.P. Hotspot

GameSpot presents the HotSpot has for a long time been one of my absolute favorite podcasts. And for that time, the two people that made it so great were Jeff Gerstmann and Rich Gallup. A few months ago, I was very sad to learn that Rich Gallup was leaving GameSpot to move back to the East Coast. (He's a New Hampshire native) This unfortunately detracted quite a bit from The Hotspot, but at least Jeff was still on.
I just learned that Jeff was fired from GameSpot yesterday after writing a bad review for Kane and Lynch: Dead Men (he gave it a 6.0) at a time when Kane and Lynch was a front-page sponsor for GameSpot. Apparently, they pulled their advertising, and some execs got pissed off.
Jeff's Wikipedia entry already reflects the firing. So, goodbye Jeff - the Hotspot will never be the same without you.
