It's been a long time since I've written anything here, but I figure I'd update any readers I might have (I'd be surprised if any of you are still reading this blog) about my newest bit of GregHowley.com coding.
In my new home office here, I've been watching a good bit of Hulu.com while I do other things. So I copied and modified my Netflix code to show the items I watch on Hulu.com. As you can see, I'm currently going back through Journeyman, which was a fantastic show. After that, I plan to watch all the episodes of Sliders, which I never caught on its original run. In staying with the theme of shows that were canceled too early, perhaps I'll re-watch Surface after that. if you get the time, you can watch these shows free online too. They're worth watching.
The Pilot was good, if you can ignore the junk science. The most enjoyable bit in the Pilot for me was "Arturo's" physics lecture. Seems the character's opinion of NASA pretty well parallels my own.
John Rhys-Davies has some good lines throughout, as the oft-repeated "Chemistry? CHEMISTRY?? That's what people do who don't have the maths for _real_ science!" Note that other less-than-rigorous disciplines are sometimes substituted for "chemistry." He will also reveal what kind of car god drives . . .
Enjoy.
