It's hard to believe that the year is almost over. Although I've listed games, movies, and television I've watched this year, I haven't posted favorites. Here they are.
Best Movie: I'd written last week about my favorite movies of 2021, and since then, I've also seen Spider-Man: No Way Home. Yeah, that one takes the cake. That's my 2021 movie of the year. I could go into serious spoiler territory about my favorite parts, but that's probably best saved for a separate post.
Best TV Show: I also wrote up my favorite television of 2021 last week. There was a lot. It's difficult to pick just one, but if I have to, I'll pick For All Mankind. It's really tough to place it above WandaVision, but while WandaVision is one of my favorites of 2021, For All Mankind is one of my top five TV shows of all time, up there with Watchmen and Fringe.
Best Video Game: Again, I posted the full list last week of my favorite video games of 2021. Really, I kind of posted every game I played all year. But the winner has got to be The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, on which I started a second playthrough over Christmas break. I won't go back all the way through the game now that I'm back home, at least not right now. But it's an excellent game.
Best Book: I think I really only had time to read a two books all year, which I read on vacation. And that makes Ready, Player Two my favorite of the two books.
Best Christmas Gift: The custom drink coasters the kids made are a close second, but we got a new kitchen this year. That's my favorite Christmas gift.
Best Vacation: Kind of a joke entry since nobody's taking vacations during pandemic, but we attended a wedding in Hawaii, where I've never previously been. It was amazing.
