Last Night, Linda and I went to see Wedding Crashers. I've been a huge fan of Will Ferell, and of Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson movies, but this one somehow didn't do it for me.
Perhaps it was because Vince Vaughn just can't pull off being a leading man. Maybe their attempt to make a romantic comedy using the (hilarious) Old School formula just didn't work out. Maybe it was because the many attempts to create the awkward moments patented by Ben Stiller came out as painful rather than funny. I don't know.
Christopher Walken was terrific as always, and Keir O'Donnell did great as Christopher Walken's skeevy gay son. He was probably my favorite character. He made me laugh, and he skeeved me out.
The movie did have some funny parts, and we did laugh. But all too often, I'd find myself wincing when the writers had intended me to laugh.
Lots of breasts in the first ten minutes though.
