Although I still get plenty of email spam, Thunderbird's adaptive spam filter is pretty good at weeding it out. GMail is pretty good too. A while back, I started getting comment spam on this site - you may have noticed the online casino and viagra/cialis comments that cropped up before I manually deleted them. Annoying as hell. I imagine sites like blogger and blogspot and software like Typepad and Wordpress have built-in filters for that type of comment spam, but as you may know, I coded this site myself. So I had to write my own filter. It seems to be working pretty well so far.
Just this past week, I also started getting spam on my comment form and had to install a copy of that same spam filter into it. Looks like the spambots have started submitting forms. Oh well.
