There are a lot of movies and TV shows coming up to talk about. Linda and I probably won't be headed to the theaters anytime soon, given that our daughter is due to arrive in a couple weeks, so Spiderman 3 may have been our last theater experience for a while. We refuse to bring a crying baby into a movie. I hate when people do that.
The Invisible is a movie I've been hearing about for a while now. It's got potential, but I can easily see it going the way of Hollow Man if not done right.
Everything I hear about Iron Man gives me a more and more favorable impression of the movie. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark seems like a good choice, and the comments I've heard about the director eschewing CGI effects in favor of cheaper and more realistic methods really sounded good. I hate bad CGI.
There are also a ton of sequels coming up. Some, like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will probably be excellent. Granted, the movie will never be as good as the book, but it should do a better job than Eragon did. (shudder). For other movies, such as Oceans 13, Rush Hour 3, and The Lost Boys 2, I've got lower expectations. Likewise, I loved the first Die Hard movie, and the third one wasn't bad either, but I'm really not sure about Live Free or Die Hard, especially since it's been rated PG-13.
On the television side of things, we've got a remake of the old show Bionic Woman, which might be cool. They've got Katie Sackhoff playing the part of the older, original bionic woman - not the main character. And in a movie-to-TV show I expect to like no more than the Highlander television series, they're making The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which revises the storyline of the movies (never a good idea) by having two terminators hunting Sarah and John Connor between the first and second movie.
And then of course, we've got the upcoming fourth season of The 4400, which I may or may not like more than Heroes. Not sure right now. In any case, those two shows are my favorite TV programs.
