Last night's episode was a good recap and catch-up, but not as good as the week before's episode. I've been thinking about what I'd do if I were Adam Monroe and found myself to be immortal. Wow - immortal. Lots of planning for the future to do. You can't die, but you can be imprisoned. What worse fate than being buried alive and never dying? I'd travel the world finding the best fighters and learning to fight. Ancient Japan? Go to some Kendo instructors who teach Samurai. Then learn Tae Kwon Do in Korea, Kung Fu in China, Ju Jitsu in Brazil, and then travel to America and meet Bruce Lee to pick up some Jeet Kune Do. Bullets won't really stop you, but if guys grab you and drag you into a cage, you're in trouble. And you can spend a few decades mastering each art; there's no rush.
So Claire's immortal too it seems, although she doesn't yet realize. And Bob, whom I'm willing to bet knows what Adam's blood can do (as it did with Nathan) wants to use Claire's blood to heal Niki. I'm willing to bet that either this combination creates a superstrain of the Shanti virus, or that Maya somehow becomes involved and makes the virus more potent. By the end of the season, which may happen December 3rd, Niki may die. Maya may die. Alejandro will probably die. Sylar hopefully (please!) does not die. And Mr. Bennett will definitely die on December 3rd. This is my prediction. Write it down. Isaac Mendez's pictures don't lie.
So last night we learned how D.L. died, (ho hum) and what exactly happened when Peter and Nathan flew away. It was interesting to learn about why Nathan was having visions of himself horribly burned, and interesting to learn that Adam's blood heals. Guess that makes his ability clearly better than Linderman's.
We also saw how Peter got locked in a cargo container, how he lost his memory, and how he got that Godsend necklace. And we learned that Elle is a total sadistic psychopath. That girl freaks me out.
As for Maya and Alejandro, how many times can we see her freak out and unwillingly kill people? It's already old. I think they've replaced Niki and Jessica as my least favorite characters.
Adam is a very good new character. Although he's just about unkillable, his real power is in his vast life experience. How many people have four hundred years of life experience behind them? He's got more wisdom than the oldest elder. And he's been able to take risks nobody else could. I'm just wondering how long it will be before we find out that he's someone's father. Heck - he could be Angela Petrelli's father or Sylar's grandfather.
Another interesting thought - we've now got three healers. Adam, Claire, and Peter. These are characters that are essentially immortal. How long will it be before the writers come back to work and decide to dream up a way to kill one of them for dramatic effect?
Even if my crazy theory holds water I don't think it could be proven until next season. It sure sounds like they are intent on wrapping things up by December 3rd.
