TV on Sunday: Knight Rider, Dexter

GregHowley.com has just learned of an upcoming television event of which all internet readers will want to be aware: The new Knight Rider premieres this coming Sunday on NBC. 8PM, 9 Central.
Just after that, on CBS, they're airing Dexter, starting at episode 1. Linda and I have watched the first 9 episodes of this show, and it's fantastic. It's about a serial killer who works as a forensic analyst for the police. It put us off a bit at first, but now we're really enjoying the show. You should check it out.

Season one of Dexter could work on network TV without too much editing, although some of it was pretty graphic. There's no way season 2 will fly without some major cutting. But of course I've seen things on CSI that I never thought would get past the censors, so who knows.

Interesting tidbit: Will Arnett (Arrested Development) was signed on to provide the voice of KITT for the new Knight Rider and had actually completed his work on the movie/pilot when GM called shenanigans. Seems that Arnett has done a lot of voiceover work for GMC Trucks ads and GM wasn't thrilled about "their" voice being used in a show with such a heavy Ford presence (the new KITT is a Ford Mustang) and sponsorship. Val Kilmer was brought in at the last minute to do KITT's voice.

oo, I agree with Frank - new Night Rider no f-ing good. Just a two-hour Ford commercial, with Ford commercials in between! Dexter was fun though...

If it is any good, perhaps it will make up for (in my mind) the fact that the new Star Trek movie has been delayed until May, 2009... Which probably won't be any F-ing good either (see B. above).
