The little girl turns one today. Linda and I spent a lot of time with her over the weekend, and it was awesome. I never knew how I'd take to being a father, but let me tell you - it's the best thing. I won't claim that there aren't times I wish I had more time to myself, but I wouldn't trade Lia for anything.
It's hard to believe that it's been a year already. Lia is branching out and trying new foods, discovering new ways to play, and even overcoming her fear of that horrible horrible grass. She can climb the staircase, although she's too scared to do it if I'm not right next to her (a healthy fear) and she's learning inside/outside. She's just started putting toys into containers instead of just pulling them out. And she now holds her play cell phone up to her ear like she's talking, although it's usually upside down.
I'm gonna pick her up some kind of birthday present before I go home today, although I'm not yet sure exactly what. I know she needs bath toys and one of those things with the different sized rings you stack up. Linda and I really need to add some new things to Lia's Wishlist.
We're having Lia's birthday party this coming Sunday. And there will be cake.
I'd get her some fun books, like those interactive ones with sounds and pictures. Those are great to sit down with before bedtime.
