I've been focusing a lot on Lungfishopolis recently, to the detriment of this site. It is really only temporary, but in the meantime I figured I'd write about a couple more things that really get on my nerves.
- Applications that steal focus as you're typing - How many times have you been typing something when suddenly an IM window pops up? Then you type out the majority of what you wanted to write in the IM window instead of where you'd intended. Just this past week, I sent CMD to my wife. She didn't open a command prompt though.
- Lengthy unskippable cutscenes right before tough boss battles - If you play games, you've hit them. Then you lose the fight and you've got to watch the stupid cutscene over and over again.
- Mountain Time - I live in the redheaded stepchild of time zones. You'd think that if the TV says a show is on at 8PM Wednesday, 7 Central, that it would be on at 6pm Mountain time. Not true. Sometimes it's on at 8. Sometimes at 7. Sometimes, it'll be on at 9pm. You never know. Stupid networks.
It's your punishment for screwing up.
I lived in Phoenix once upon a time--no Daylight Savings Time and I never watched "60 Minutes" all the time I lived there because it always got preempted by some damned sport or other. Saturday morning cartoons came on at 5 AM. They rolled the sidewalks up at 10 PM. I feel your pain.
