Television has been sparse recently. Game of Thrones season three is now over, and everyone has been properly traumatized by the Red Wedding. Defiance is a meh-inducing show that will be artificially propped up for many seasons by its existence as an MMO. I've been left with only Arrested Development to catch up on via Netflix. But there's a lot of interesting stuff coming down the pipe.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.(ABC) - Joss Whedon is behind this one, and I'm very interested. It's a Marvel universe show, and somehow, Agent Coulson is alive despite having died in The Avengers. Check out this trailer.
Almost Human(FOX) - This one looks like a Robocop show, but this Robocop has been programmed to have human feelings. Aw. It'll probably deal with the same issues as Bicentennial Man - about when the distinction between man and machine grows indistinguishable. My hopes aren't high, but we'll see. (trailer)
Avatar: The Legend of Korra(Nickelodeon) It kills me that I can find no date for season two. 2013 is as close as I can find. But season one was excellent.
The Big Bang Theory(CBS) - Season seven starts in September. Yay!
Crisis(NBC) - Seems like a 24 kind of show. A high school class is ambushed and captured. This class includes the president's son. I don't know, but I'll give it a go.
Dexter(Showtime) - The final season. We've been speculating about whether he'll live, die, give up killing, or go to jail for a while. Now we find out.
The Newsroom(HBO) - Season 2 of The Newsroom is the only reason I'm considering keeping my HBOGo subscription now that Game of Thrones has ended. It starts on July 14th, which is just around the corner.
Resurrection(ABC) - A bunch of people in some small town come back to life. How are they going to keep this one going after the first couple episodes? I expect this show to flop, but I'll tune in to find out.
Sleepy Hollow(FOX) - My hopes for this one are low as well. It's just supposed to be a retelling of the old story Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Ichabod Crane. Getting this one beyond epidode one sounds like a stretch.
The Tomorrow People(CW) - Apparently, this was a British show in the 70s. Since it's the CW, I'm expecting more Smallville and less Heroes, but I like the genre, so I'll check it out.
It's mostly a disappointing lineup, isn't it?
